Pippi Guilfoyle, PUBLISHER Some stories never grow old—and when it comes to our annual celebration of the Poodle in all its splendid forms, the tradition only grows richer with time. It’s with great excitement that I introduce this very special edition, featuring full coverage of the 2025 Poodle Club of America National Specialty. This year’s theme, Rock on with Poodles! , perfectly captured the dynamic energy and iconic style of our beloved breed. Although I wasn’t able to attend in person this year, I was fortunate to live the experience vicariously through your stories, your photos, and the vibrant buzz that continues to surround this event. From the first elegant stride into the ring to the final ribbon held high in triumph, this year’s Specialty was a resounding tribute to the vitality, versatility, and enduring elegance of the Poodle. A CELEBRATION OF CANINE ROCK STARS The event truly embraced its rock-and-roll theme, and the grounds were alive with the spirit of cel-ebration. There were Rock Stars galore—on two legs and four—lighting up the rings with charisma, precision, and flair. The rings themselves were a vision: beautifully framed by verdant trees and lush greenery, offering a serene yet dramatic stage for the high-energy performances that unfolded within. The combination of pageantry and passion was unmistakable. Whether it was a jaw-dropping stack in the Best in Show ring, a perfectly executed pattern in the grooming area, or the quiet, powerful moments between dog and handler, there was a heartbeat of excellence pulsing through every corner of the event. BEHIND THE SCENES, UNSUNG HEROES A heartfelt thanks to our contributors and supporters who helped make this year’s issue complete. I also want to acknowledge Purina, once again, went above and beyond to ensure the venue was not only operational but warm and welcoming—no small feat given the challenges and unexpected losses faced elsewhere on the grounds. Their commitment and care helped uphold the magic and meaning of this cherished tradition. Special thanks also go to Diana Han and Rhea Rose (NOR CAL BULLDOGGER) for capturing the candid, behind-the-scenes moments that so often tell the real story of an event like this. And a shoutout to AKC TV, whose coverage brought the ringside drama, emotion, and joy straight into our homes—I may have been miles away, but I didn’t miss a beat.
